Just received my new V&H Carbon Fiber Slip-on Muffler. Will post pics and impressions this weekend :D :D :D :D

Here is the old muffler, it wasn't in too bad of shape, just a few small dents and one scrape, but I couldn't pass up the deal I got on ebay for the new muffler, 125.00 versus almost 400.00 from Dennis Kirk.

Install was even easier than going from stock as the brackets provided by V&H were already on the bike from the previous muffler.

The sound is great and performance is satisfactory, the bike pulls strong all the way through the powerband.

The only glitch in the process is that my 4 yr old touched the new muffler after I went for the shakedown ride, she is fine after a trip to the emergency room to treat the burn she received.

She now understands why I have told her and her little sister to never, ever, under any circumstances touch dad's bikes. Poor little Gianna won't do that again, of that I'm certain:frownthre :frownthre :frownthre :frownthre :frownthre

I only turned my back as I was putting the tools away but it was enough for her to get into mischief and burn herself. :frownthre She did a great job explaining to little Annalea, the 2 yr old, to never ever touch Dad's bikes or she would end up at the hospital.

Annalea shivers at the thought of the hospital as she was there once for the old "remove the carrot from the nose" procedure. :doh

For my part I'll have to make sure the bikes are where they can't reach them if I know they are hot.

Glad Gianna is okay. Sometimes it takes a little bit of pain for us to learn!

You can tell her that at five years old I also learned the hard way that you do not stick your finger into a hot automobile cigarette lighter.

Just watch that rear mount very carefully as they tend to break quite easily.

Are you talking about the metal band that goes around the muffler body ??

Possible breakage point where the bolts attach to the metal band, or the welds that hold the attach point to the metal band ??
