A local dealer (Chandler H-D) had FREE dyno runs this weekend as part of their 6th Anniversary. Here's what I got for my 2005 XL883C (Stage 1 - details in sig)... I'm planning to shim the needle at this point and tune from there (to take care of that lean spot between about 2200 and 3400 RPM's. Any suggestions welcome! (And anyone in the Phoenix area - go over to Chandler H-D - free dyno runs tomorrow (Sunday) too - sign up at the service desk and wait your turn - I only waited about 45 minutes)...

Yep - I was pretty happy with the results (typical, I think, for a Stage 1 883 - good to see I didn't do anything drastically wrong!)... But now I'm itchin' for a conversion (88" maybe?!)...

azflyingdiver, those are some really good numbers. I'm thinking about getting my bike dynoed completely stock (as it is now) before I do my stage 1 upgrade. However, I already have the pipes/AC and don't know if it's worth it to wait another w/e to install stage one while getting dynoed.

But, it would be nice to have a chronicle of performance improvement. decisions, decisions.

Hey Zanex - still in SD I see!
Personally, I'd dyno after the Stage 1 to see if you have any tweaks possible to get the most out of it. It'd be nice to have a baseline on the stocker, but those numbers are fairly well known (and moot after the Stage 1!). As it is, I didn't get a dyno until after having done Stage 1 for several months and even then the dyno was free! Good luck with your install - let us know how it goes!

883's with stage 1 will top out HP wise at about 6700-6800 rpms, so a higher redline would help........

Curve looks very similiar to mine......

Yep - the stock rev limiter kicked in so I'll have to wait until I can get an iggy to get up there. Gonna wait to do the ignition when I do my conversion... It'd be nice to see what she'd pull around 6700-6800, though!

Sure Am, but only for 13 more days! I can't wait to get back to the East Coast. After seeing your bike (especially those color matched side covers), I just couldn't help but miss mine. I appreciate you talking to me outside of that casino. I must have had you out there for 45 mins!

I'll be sure to post pics of my stage one when I get back!

That Indio get-together was a great time - it was fun "talkin' shop" with everyone... I'm sure you can't wait to get back to your bike and start wrenchin' away!
