i posted this in the general section as well but i need help. rebuilding my 90 1200 last night while torking the head bolts, the right rear bolt on the rear cylinder needed to be turned quite a bit more to reach tork specs and now with the wrench on 40, all of the others are solid and the wrench gives but this one turns a hair before the wrench gives. chrishajer said it is probably stripped in the case and to tear ir down and look at the threads. sounds good but wanted to get a little more input as well. if it is stripped, what are some of the ways to fix? would a heli-coil work? drill out and retap one size larger? could i get a bolt that is larger on the case end and the same up top? i'm dying to get this beast running. my daily driver(250 honda rebel) is a good little bike but i want to ride my harley!!!!!!!!! :angry

I'm no expert at helicoils or inserts but I'd call a machinist that does head work to get his/her opinion. I've had both done on auto intake manifolds and heads, just not my sporty.

Best of luck!
