I am new to the forum. I have read many post but did not find this topic,so forgive me if this has been talked about allready. I understand the Rake and Trail geometry. But Has any one on this forum ever installed a bolt on chopper kit from Seeger Cycles or something similar? I think they look BAD :censor !
I would like some feedback if some one has done this or know some one who has. Will it suck? How bad is the handleing? Is it better to lower your bike and use the kit? Or is it better not to lower your bike with a chopper kit? Thanks for all your time. I just hope I am not beating a dead horse! :headbang :chop :feedback

There are a few members that have put that kit on their bikes and I haven't heard any complaits. Check the old board/forum, I'm sure you'll find their comments over there. I'll save you some time.
Here one thread:

Hey Gyahmers. I see you are getting a 180 conversion. Why the heck are you gonna use a stock fender. I think you might need to get creative and have some fun with your bike. I know you have the midglide done and you are working on the back. I think you need to show off that meaty tire with something special back there.
As to the Seeger kits go I have not heard anything negative about them other than they don't look right on a sportster. Thats just an oppinion that many have but who cares. If you like it then go for it.

Just take to some one and rake it! Buy some new tubes from Frank's. It will probably be cheaper than the Seeger.

Well... I'm one of them that have installed the chopperkit. Got mine through Dug at chopperkit.com (great to deal with), same kit as Seeger just a bit more complete.
The handling is great. The only time I noticed any difference in handling is less than 5mph (wheel gets heavy) or making a U turn (a bit wider). Other then that it handles just as nice as it did before. Even through the twisties the handling is great... maybe requiring a bit more lean to get through them but not a prob.
I'll replay to your e-mail later on tonight... right now I have 6 loud a$$ sporties outside wanting me to come out and play. There a shortage of baffles or what… :clap
