Great looking bike...

Could someone explain to me what this is all about?

Seriously....what is the deal with burning out your rear tire?

I don't get it..

loud noise, smoke, and leaving a patch of rubber for all to see. Kind of like marking your territory. ever owned a muscle car with a posi rear? same thing.

There ya go ....who said ya need a 1200..

As far as a burnout goes....if it needs to be explained..... then it's a waste of time.....

I luv the smell of race fuel and burnin rubber

Locking down the front brake and letting the back wheel spin. Big Whoop. You could do the same thing with a Honda 50 or a Cushman. Seems kinda pointless unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket and you like buying tires. Since this guy works at a Chopper shop, I'm guessing that is NOT his bike. This kind of idiocy seems to be a relatively new phenomina in motorcycling. I don't remember this being a popular thing to do years ago.

Try it some time ....

and when you've got that worked out because it's so easy.....

Do it standing up on the bike...........

Then do do-nuts standing up....

Easy??????

I guess this is easy too ????

Although this one was a bit easier........

Doin a burnout is like ridin a bike........each to his own.... and let the individual enjoy what they do......

I'm sure most of you that ride get pissed off when car drivers look down at you just because you ride a bike...

And when my sporty is back together I'll be doin burnout and stunt shows on it instead of the gixxer.....

Since My bike needs new tires, as soon as it gets warm out ( :censor ) I'm going to light up my rear tire. It's going in the garbage, so why not??? And BTW, that guy did do 2 donuts on that bike at that time.

Like doing wheelies but burnouts are not my thing. I only do burnouts when the Crappy Metzeler ME1 does not grab at the light. It is fun in a straight line when you are racing. Only problem is while you are burning you are also usually losing.

The dealer where I got my bike put a burnout pit in last summer, if you burn your tire, they will do a free mount and balance for the new one.

Burnouts are fun anyway you look at it! Look at the faces of all the on lookers. Does anyone there look bored at this moment? Sometimes you have to say F%#K IT, kick practicality in the nuts, and have some fun. Cool picture by my vote!

Kool Aid!

Come on, a bunch of bikers hanging out, watching some dude roast his tire....they couldn't possibly be drinking an adult beverage...How would they ride their bikes home??

Whenever my buddy could pick up a car mini-spare with a 16" rim he'd mount the tire on his 550 Nighthawk and head down to the wharf and do monster burn-outs. He'd shift that sucker up as far as 3rd gear sometimes and smoke the tire till he was invisible. Sooner or later he'd appear from the smoke with a grin from ear to ear. That was impressive to watch. He later got a CBX 1100 (6 cyl). The smoke shows he'd put on with that thing were sick!

Check out these vids, a bunch of local boys. They do stunts and stuff at places like Raceway Park, Englishtown NJ, to keep the crowd alive between heats.
