Sorry, I did not print the max HP & T

blue: Shortshots
red: Shortshots no baffles
green: se II slip ons with stock head pipes (early SE II, when they were made by Cycle Shack)

Bike is a 1998 FXD with:
Andrews EV27 cam
HSR42
10.5:1 .005" KB pistons (too much compression for this cam, IMO)
14K miles

The green run was after we convinced the customer to reinstall his stock headpipes and install SE slip-ons (the Cycle Shack version.) The green run was also started too soon (too low RPM.)

There is probably a 5HP peak difference between the Shortshots and the SE slip ons, but more significantly, for me and anyone who rides on the street, is the boost in torque from 2000 - 4500 RPM and beyond.

(I found these runs and the others tonight while trying to find V&H Straightshots dyno runs. I realized tonight I have access to over 33,000 dyno runs from the last 10 years. Searching for "Vance" yields over 3K results, lots of them that say "adVANCEd timing", and searching for straight get lots of straight pipe results. Searching for V&H yields lots of 2 into 1 results :( )

Chris -

Thanks...I suppose this is for me and Jimbo.

Chris you are comparing a different pipe, we are running STRAIGHTSHOTS not Shortshots. Those are those very short pipes which if memory serves me correct only work on the big end, short pipes for high RPM's.

Also I really wouldn't be very proud of that dyno, a big twin with that kind of work only putting out 81 HP. Not very impressive. Our bikes would run circles around that sled.

This wasn't for anyone in particular. I know you guys have straightshots. I posted at the bottom of the original post that I have something like 33,000 dyno runs to look through, and it's difficult to search for V&H and get relevant results. I'm still looking as time permits.

And I wasn't posting this to look at the peak number either. Just a comparison of the shortshots, then without baffle, then SE II. Actually, that EV27 with 9.5:1 or even 10:1 compression gets about 80 HP with stock heads in most cases. I would say this is a normal result. The 10.5:1 is too much compression. And the heads are still a limiting factor. I'm still looking for runs to show straightshots for you guys. When I find that, I will post in the other thread.

Thanks, Chris...I think I'll probably be getting a 2-1...just have to decide which one. I would like to see anything you find, though.

I'm still looking. More tonight.
