Last year I bought a K&N air filter for my bike, when I tried to put it on it did not fit. That was when I discovered my bike has the SE kit on it which has a different size filter which is already a K&n filter. I immediately put it back in its plastic and back in the box. Well since I have no use for it I had a buddy sell it on ebay for me. I think it went for like $40 bucks. Now the buyer is saying his mechanic is saying that it is bent and has no oil on it, and that there is not even oil residue on the plastic bag. He is saying that since it was lisrted as new that he believed it to be never opened. What would you do if you were me.

15 jumping jacks, five beers, two pornos, and one email to the buyer saying talk to K&N.

Nice of them to oil it for you now! When I put mine on, I had to do it myself with a can of their product still in my garage! And as far as being "bent" did they mean drastically so (from shipping?) or a slight warp. Filters will flatten out in the housing. Why I don't buy from or put things on E-Bay... too many people looking for a cheapy and not happy with what they get anyways. Guy needs a mechanic for a filter? RUB newbie posur!

I would start by posting this in the general off topic section - not the BUELL INTAKE/EXHAUST FORUM? :p

Then I would tell the buyer to F-off.

If you never installed it or bent it, then you know the truth, IT IS NEW.

Hell, why does he need a MECHANIC to install an air filter???

:frownthre

I didn't realize I put it in the Buell section.:doh How do I move it. And the filter isn't supposed to be dripping with oil, just as long as the filter has a reddish color right? Or am I wrong?

Clean your hands of it.

Its alredy been said but I can't help it: Who needs a mechanic to install an air filter???(WTF!!!)

K&Ns are white when not oiled and should be red after oiling, there is usually residue in the bag and the filter is wet-ish.

Don't sweat it, I was busting your balls for future reference.

IF you WANTED to you could ask a mod to move it, but otherwise, don't worry about it.

Guess it depends on the oil - I know my old K&N oil used to be red... but think you want it just wet, not damp... not sure if that's really enough to turn the element color... :dunno

Tell them to choke on a bag of cocks. And, not just your garden variety type, the used and abuse prison issue ones!

Then insult their mother for giving birth to a dumbass. Tell them to sue you if they have a problem.

Do you got the money? Then whats the worse that can happen, a negative feedback, screw them.

Well, I would ask how and where it is bent, and ask for photos.
Explain to him, just how you did here, you removed ity from the package to find that one, you didn't need it, and second it would not work with the SE airfilter you have, so you didn't try to install it, you just put it back in the box, and you ASSUMED it was the way you got it and it was never installed.
