Hi all,

I have an '82 frame that was bent while in the hands of a sandblaster... :yikes :censor
Can anybody direct me to dimensioned plans of the frame that I can beg/borrow/steal or buy so I can get my frame back on the straight and narrow???

many thanks

Superior at http://www.superiormotorcycles.com in their catalog page 26 have a poster of a 1977 Sportster 1000cc frame available as a poster 24" X 36" or a mural 36" X 50". These blueprints may be available from HD [?]. Not sure that it would help tho.

How did the blaster bend yer frame? That's no easy task. I'd be raising holy hell about it!

This shouldn't surprise you....I don't generally edit myself very well...

I'd be on a TRI STATE KILLING SPREE if this happened to me...

I would lose it ALL OVER somebody's a** until this got fixed to my satisfaction.....

I'm still curious as to how they bent the frame. What, they bake it till it became soft? :laugh

I'm curious as well, because we all know that retards work in mysterious ways...

I hope he can get the sandblasting shop to take care of their screw-up...

Exactly....

he may never find out "how"....

it sure wasn't a by-product of the blasting...

It got dropped, or hit or was otherwise mishandled in the care of a professional.....

End of story....

"fix it..."

"I don't care how..."

"I don't care what it costs you"

"Its not my issue, its yours.."

"You DON'T want to make it my issue...."

"Is it done yet?"

Will...
they dropped something on it...something heavy enough to dent the lower frame rail and leave marks all over the place..and bend the backbone! I'll be posting some photos at my website sometime this week

and...of course they are denying it all. I'm not letting it rest here...
but, in the meantime I have a useless frame and it isn't going to stay that way.

..oh, and thanks everyone for the great welcome!!!
forgive me..it's late here ;-)

I wouldn't give that SOB a minutes rest until he makes it right. A letter from a lawyer will often work wonders.

Ah yes, the lawyer...That's the main reason for the photos...

Not for nothing, but I wouldn't touch that frame for now, if I were you.....

Get some estimates, and report it to your insurance co. Let THEM deal with it...

Just out of curiosity...do you have any pics from before the trip to the blaster?

That's something I learned to do a long time ago...

Sorry the advice comes too late....

jeez louise...........I took a while getting back here....
Frame was straightened AND powder coated at the Fool's expense.
Still working on motor etc.bottom end is back in frame temporarily for a housing move.

It's all good

Here's a shot sans engine
