I had stage 1 done, pipes and S.E. air cleaner, untill the police around here starterd coming down hard on anything BUT stock pipes,so rather than constantly waiting to get nailed and pay my $250.00 fine and having to put them on anyways, I was forced to put the ugly, quiet stockers back on! UUURRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!- My ? is, without the pipes, and just the SE air cleaner, will there be ANY? improvement over bone stock??? Big ole bummer!!!

if you get another set of stockers you could do the gronk mod, chances are they'd be too stupid to know the difference(no offense to any cops, but 95% of the ones ive encountered are real dumbasses)

edit-and i doubt there will be much improvement, if you could inhale incredibly fast, fastest in the world, but couldnt exhale worth a shit, you couldnt breathe any faster than you could exhale... sorry but thats the sad truth

I'm no expert, but it certainly won't help. There are some quiet (relatively) 2 into 1 pipes that flow well. Maybe an option.

Yes, supertrapp 2:1's are very quiet, but are also VERY expensive last i checked, something like 500 or 600 bucks, but they perform very well.

I'm in Ct. - The state police have been a REAL problem for the past couple of years, now my brother-in law who is on the local force, kinda suggested, it would probably be smart to change for around town too!!- They are all nalin hard!!

If you want to be as loud as you want try Georgia. I've NEVER read about noise enforcement here. Some of the "tuners" are louder than bikes-but much crappier sounding. Matt

Hey y'all:

Move out here where I live in south Arkansas and you can drive it like you stole it, just about anywhere you go. Big woods and lot's of windy two lane roads, with no cops, or at least none that will bother you.

I live in Freedom/ work in Kaukauna WI, just miles from trolling for walleye, and last summer the police in Kaukauna wrote 244 tickets to just motorcycles, and many to loud vehicles, I know some of the cops from the auto parts store I work at, they are the defintion of the exhaust nazis, I am just wondering how long I will get away with my SEII pipes I just added... hopefully I can get lucky...

244 tickets is only .678 tickets per day, thats not really all that bad, unless its an incredibly small town.

i live just about 20 miles south of fort wayne, in. and i have the cs bolgna cut pipes and the local boys never say a word about them. and have never even got a look except for them coming up and commenting on the scoot.so i guess i pretty lucky.but i would check and see what your state sets at a allowable noise decibel level and work your pipes in from there.

What you need there in good ole Kaukauna is an old fashioned "Big Biker Rally" With a few hundred BT's straight pipe, roaring around the burg, those cops would probably resign. Either the rally, or a good donut shop......

If you knew how bad Kaukauna smelled you would vote for the donut shop. :roflblack :roflblack :

thats .668 tickets a day based on 365 days a year.... my guess is there aren't 365 riding days a year in WI. So for the riding season, 244 tickets could be a lot per day especially if it's a small town.

My kerker 2into1 header is street legal in all states if you keep the fiberglass packing in it. That's one of the things i like about it, you can adjust the sound level by how much packing you keep in it.

Hey, you are correct sir. Take out around 5 months for winter and another month for rainy days and you can cut that 365 in half. Kaukauna is a small town. Haven't been there in a couple years but according to their website....Today, the City of Kaukauna is a growing community of 12,743...and it isn't really a city you just pass through unless you live near it. There is a major highway running next to it so you would probably there instead.

So now you have to figure 1 in 50 have gotten a motorcycle ticket. That's probably pretty close to, on average, every motorcycle rider in the city has had one that year.
