I have an '05 1200c. I was fine with the look of the strip on the gas tank, until somebody on this site pointed out that it isn't chrome. I suppose I hadn't paid close enough attention before, but now that I am- I can't stand the look of the brushed silver. Anyway, I bought the chrome version. It set me back $130, so I hope I like it.

Has anybody removed their tank strip before? I would like to find out what the best approach is, so that I can remove my stock one, and install the chrome one. Was it a PIA, or did it go pretty well for you?

I remeber reading a few post on the old message board about this a few times, everyone said it was pretty simple. I tried to do a search, but nothing came up. I'm not sure if the old site is still functional though.
