Cool bike! There's a guy here in bloomington who has one of those too. I see it every now and then. That's the bike that drew me towards HD when I was a tike. I still dig that big racing logo too. Thanks for the pic.

Sorry I missed you guys last night. We were heading to the swamp and I couldn't find you guys. My buddy Lumpy on a Iron Horse broke down. His ignition switch died on him so we had to hot wire the bike to get him home.

That's a cool super glide, a friend reworked one a few years ago just like it. I love the round taillight look and the red, white, and blue paint job.

I always liked the tank panel on the '71 Super Glide with the big racing #1 on it. I'm not familiar with the model on the left :)
Also, this is just another example of HD taking the good stuff off the Sportster and putting it on the BT line. Ignoring for a moment that the whole FX line is based on Big Twins with an XL front end, they even stole the boat tail off an XL. This is a 1970 XLH.

Whether or not you consider the boat tail "the good stuff" off the XL is another thing altogether.

Speedway,
the one on left is only 35 years old, carbon based human model with all it's original parts, some parts are well worn some have been broken & repaired many times, and it is am a lil slow and grouchy in the mornings, and puff blue smoke most of time, and make the various sounds like the bike too cough, hack snort, fart etc..., been run all the way around the world, to hell and back, seen alot of miles in my time and have yet to get back to where the journey started, my lady loves her old harley.
The 71 SG has always held a special place in my heart, can not go wrong with those colors.
Jamman Thanks for the pic.
