XL Forum - Sportster and Buell Motorcycle Forum Community Bulletin
For unsubscription information, please see the bottom of this email
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
$username,
The weekly bulletin is being sent out one day early because a miracle has happened...Schnuki and I actually have 4 days off together at the same time so we have decided to take off and go somewhere that we have never been. We will probably end up in Poland or Denmark but we will figure that out when we get on the highway. I was thinking about heading down to Normany but I hate driving in France because of all the tolls.
Also Schucki and I are celebrating 8 years of marriage on the July 4th!!
For all the Americans, please be safe this 4th of July weekend. We want you all back on Wednesday!
FEATURED SPORTSTER/BUELL WEBSITE OF THE WEEK
If you would like to see yours here email me the URL.
This weekends featured website is called schpaa.com and it is from a guy who loves his X1 Millenium. The website is very nicely designed and has some great photos and info on it.
You can check it out HERE
SUPPORT TEAM ELVES!!
The XL Forum has pledged it support of Team Elves which is a Buell Land Speed Record Team. There is a new forum category in the forum where the Team Elves crew will be posting their progress and accomplishments for all of us and can be found HERE. Please read the introduction post in this category to get more info on who the Team Elves are and why they exist.
You can also visit their website at Teamelves.com.
They will also be announcing fund raisers in this section and I encourage anyone who can to participate.
BIKER SAFETY TIP OF THE WEEK
QUICK TIPS: General Guidelines For Riding A Motorcycle Safely from the Motorcycle Safety Foundation
Know your bike and how to use it:
• Get formal training and take refresher courses.
• Call 800.446.9227 or visit www.msf-usa.org to locate the Motorcycle Safety Foundation hands-on RiderCourse nearest you.
• Practice. Develop your riding techniques before going into heavy traffic. Know how to handle your bike in conditions such as wet or sandy roads, high winds, and uneven surfaces.
Remember: Give yourself space. People driving cars often just don’t see motorcycles. Even when drivers do see you, chances are they’ve never been on a motorcycle and can’t properly judge your speed.
A FREE poster with these and other tips can be downloaded HERE
XL CLASSIFIEDS
Remember to check out the XL CLASSIFIEDS section which is full of great parts that other XL Forum members have for sale. You could save quite a lot on a parts or services that you have been searching for. Also check out the PARTS WANTED section. You might have something that someone else needs.
CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUT THE XL CLASSIFIEDS
XL Forum Team Membership Price Change
Until further notice I have lowered the price of XL Forum Team Membership to $25.00 per year. If you are a current XL Forum Team Members and your membership renews during the period I have the cost lowered you will receive a refund.
Why am I doing this? I am, and I am sure you are too, tired of hearing about how prices of everything keep going up and up.
Who wants $50.00?
Write a Letter to The Editor and you may qualify for $50.00! - Details are HERE.
I would really like to give some money away and so far have not had a chance to. Come on everyone!! Get out your pen and paper!

JOKE OF THE WEEK - Submitted by wabiker
Only a Southerner knows the difference between a hissie fit and a conniption fit, and that you "HAVE" one and "PITCH" the other.
Only a Southerner knows how many fish, collard greens, turnip greens, peas, beans, etc., make up "a mess."
Only a Southerner can show or point out to you the general direction of "yonder."
Only a Southerner knows exactly how long "directly" is, ... as in: "Going to town, be back directly."
Even Southern babies know that "Gimme some sugar" is not a request for the white, granular sweet substance that sits in a pretty little bowl in the middle of the table.
All Southerners know exactly when "by and by" is. They might not use the term, but they know the concept well.
Only a Southerner knows instinctively that the best gesture of solace for a neighbor who's got trouble is a plate of hot fried chicken and a big bowl of cold potato salad. If the neighbor's trouble is a real crisis, they also know to add a large banana puddin!
Only Southerners grow up knowing the difference between "right near" and "a right far piece." They also know that "just down the road" can be 1 mile or 20.
Only a Southerner, both knows and understands, the difference between a redneck, a good ol' boy, and po' white trash.
No true Southerner would ever assume that the car with the flashing turn signal is actually going to make a turn.
A Southerner knows that "fixin" can be used as a noun, a verb, or an adverb.
Only Southerners make friends while standing in lines, ... and when we're "in line," ... we talk to everybody!
Put 100 Southerners in a room and half of them will discover they're related, even if only by marriage.
In the South, y'all is singular, . all y'all is plural.
Southerners know grits come from corn and how to eat them.
Every Southerner knows tomatoes with eggs, bacon, grits, and coffee are perfectly wonderful; that red eye gravy is also a breakfast food; and that fried green tomatoes are not a breakfast food.
When you hear someone say, "Well, I caught myself lookin'," you know you are in the presence of a genuine Southerner!
Only true Southerners say "sweet tea" and "sweet milk." Sweet tea indicates the need for sugar and lots of it -- we do not like our tea unsweetened. "Sweet milk" means you don't want buttermilk.
And a true Southerner knows you don't scream obscenities at little old ladies who drive 30 MPH on the freeway. You just say,"Bless her heart" ... and go your own way.
To those of you who are still a little embarrassed by your Southerness: Take two tent revivals and a dose of sausage gravy and call me in the morning. Bless your heart!
And to those of you who are still having a hard time understanding all this Southern stuff, ... bless your hearts, I hear they are fixin' to have classes on Southernness as a second language!
And for those that are not from the South but have lived here for a long time, all y'all need a sign to hang on y'alls front porch that reads "I ain't from the South, but I got here as fast as I could."
PATRIOT GUARD RIDERS
Lastly, but most important, I ask each one of you that can, to support your local Patriot Guard Riders. Visit www.patriotguard.org. Together we are making a real difference!
