Is there a difference in Sporty's with CA stock CAM's (EPA) and others?

I am starting a conversion and was told to upgrade my cam from stock to
N2's. Hopefully, I can exchange them with Steelthunder for N4's. Most people swear by N4's and complete thumb their noses at the 2's.

I don't believe that there is any difference in cams.

For 1999, all the Sportsters had the same cam, except for the XL1200S (dual plug model.) Otherwise, 883 & 1200, CA and 49-state, all the same.

If that is the case, are the CAMS designed for EPA standards and are we being cheated on performance acrossed the board?

Cheated? No. HD makes a bike that will pass EPA emissions. What you do to it after that is up to you, no matter which state you're in.
