hello,
I am new here and am looking to buy my first bike. I was going to get a sportster and will down the road but I ran across a 2000 Blast that is like new with 3000 miles on it.the guy wants $3,000. What would be the most you all would offer. Any help and/or advice will be appreciated

Price seems kind of high. There are two on Ebay right now with a Buy It Now prices of $2300, and $2495. One is a 2001 and one is under 2000 miles, and the other is a 2003.Here are the item numbers to take a look at them and shop around.

Check out craigslist.com also.

Good Luck,

I think blue book is only about $2300. Unless it has a lot of extras his price seems high.

$3000 is too much. Around here they seem to go for around $2000 - $2500, and not always as old as a 2000. Usually newer, but still under $2500. If they have a V&H pipe, they're worth a bit more to me.

Good luck. They're fun bikes.

Welcome to the forum! The price is too high on that Blast. On top of that the 2000's had lots of quality issues. Do a little searching on the web, you'll see what I mean. I was looking at them for my wife awhile back and it seemed by ~2002 they had the issues worked out, but I don't remember the details. It's a cool bike have fun :)

$2,000, maybe a couple hundred more.

I bought a uses 2002 with 168 miles for $2,500, so $3,000 for a 2000 with those miles would be worth a bit less.

I had a 2001, which still had the rocker box gasket problem, but not the sprocket issue.

If it has had the rear sprocket changed (factory recall) and the rocker box gasket replaced (not factory recalled) then it is worth like 2200-2500. If it has not had those 2 things done, then I'd offer less.

At 3000 miles the rear tire is likely almost gone too. The soft dunlops had good traction, but lousy wear characteristics. The Pirelli and Avon replacements are much better....
