Anyone on here fitted the hard H-D saddlebags? They aren't cheap, but they do look good (to me anyway) when they're colourmatched.
Are they easy to fit, does the hardware have all you need to move the turn signals? Are they weather tight? Anyone got a photo of them on an XL?
Tempted to sell a kidney or something so's I can have a set.....

Well I have a pic of my National cycle hardbags, I attached them my using the "Ghost Brackets" kit which I bolted to the outside of the bags, and it allow me to remove them without any hassle, and no massive amount of hardware left

The Hard Saddlebag kit includes the hardware and instructions for relocating the turn signals. They ain't cheap is an understatement! Picked my up from a dealer website (H&M H-D) when they were having a 15% off sale. A couple of H-D dealer websites offer 15% as standard for most parts but seems not often on these! (special order because of the color match painting). Mine are still in the box haven't gotten around to mounting them yet. Need to get some color matched side covers first (won't look so good IMO otherwise). Every once in a great while a pair comes up on e-bay but then in most cases you'd still need to get them painted to match your bike. I plan on getting to a similar look to "the MoCo sporty" in the attachment though in Sunglo Blue.

My girlfriend has the hard bags on her Dyna. Basically, they are the same, maybe even identical. They look real nice on the bike. But the one problem I have with them is that HD does not offer any kind of saddle bag guards. Having ridden a bagger for 20 yrs, I can tell you they come in handy. Just drop the bike over once, and you are out real big money. Those saddlebags will hit the ground before anything alse on the bike, and plastic does not hold up well to the weight of even a Sportster. Come on Harley, where the hell is your head at? Up your ass? Design something that will protect those hard bags. Or maybe they want you to buy new ones if you drop your bike? They charge an arm and a leg, and it cost them just a few dollars to mold the damn things.

I have the leather covered, hard bags from HD. They were around $800 or so. I have since installed a set of Ghost Brackets so I can run without them. I have detachable side plates, quick release windshield. I can make this puppy go from cruiser to sport bike in 3 minutes.

For what harley wants for those bags, the Biker's Friend Saddle Bag is a cheaper and better option. It is off and on the bike quickly, comes in four sizes, holds alot of stuff, and gives you back support.

The color matched fiberglass hard saddlebags are the same for Sporties and the Dyna's. MSRP is $950... Got mine for $816 shipped.

Does anyone know the dimensions of any of the HD bags? For all the guff in the catalog, I've still no idea how big they are - I want to know if I can get a sleeping bag in there!
Sent for the signal relocation kit so next time I try a set against the bike I can get the bags and the wife's legs on the bike...
