Called my stealer for a quick pull to check AFR. He says, "No Way, it's not just one pull and that's that".
They warm up the bike and then do 3 pulls, cool down, do another 3, cool down again, and then do 3 more. :wtf
Yea, that's 9 pulls (and 1 hour labor @ $67.50). He says that's the only way to get an accurate reading from the sniffer.
NRHS, Ron, Chris, or anybody else want to comment on this? Sounds like bullshit to me.:frownone

Your dealer is 100% correct and they used the same procedure we use. You cannot do a dyno tune in just 1 or 2 pulls.

Thanks, Dan...I feel better now.
BTW - No tuning, just to give me an AFR readout. I'm waiting for my LSR 2-1 and then I'll get it dialed in.

I am looking to have the same thing done that you are going to have done, but I didn't know how they went about it. So now I know! Thanks for the info guys! :)

There is some variation from pull to pull on the a/f reading. You can get a pretty good idea of where it's at on a warmed up motor in 3 pulls though. When you compare how long it takes to put the bike on the dyno and hook it all up vs. how long it takes to do a pull, you might as well do 3 or 4.
Getting a stable and good power reading often takes 9 pulls or more though, even on a fully warmed up bike brought in off the street. I hate to go making any kind of changes at all until I know the results aren't drifting by themselves, otherwise you'll just end up out in the weeds, getting fooled and making changes based on bad data.

Showed up at the stealer bright and early only to have him tell me sorry. He had 2 bikes left over from Friday. 1 was on the dyno for 6 hours already and still not right, the other needed a full dyno tune of at least 4 hours. He wanted me to leave my bike. I told them to shove it and walked out.:(
