Dear Uncle HD
Please make us a streetable XR 750 with a 100 hp engine. Try to keep the weight under 400 lbs, and set it up with high preformance works shocks and forks. You might even consider using the frame for the oil like Rickman did back in the day.
Oh, and some nice vintage looking orange and black fiberglass and tins.:)
Thanks,
Grizzly
Not likely since the XR750 went out of production over 25 years ago.
They made 100hp out of the box but weren't streetable being a WOT race machine with no low end power.
They did make the XR 1000 with optional Branch heads and cams that made 100hp in street trim.
Only a few made over two years ('83-'84) and hard to find at a reasonable price anymore.

I had a 1983 XR-1000. Here is a 1984 XR-1000 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1984-1-2-Harley-Davidson-XR1000_W0QQitemZ150007459899QQihZ005QQcategoryZ670 7QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) on eBay with some pipes I've never seen before.

Wonder if it would be possible to build an XR1000 engine using the Iron sporty bottom end and XR topend essentially what the XR1000 was.

I'm thinking about building a late model Evo bottom end with XR1000 top ends. Sundance in Japan has built a couple.
I also have a set of Thunderheads and a set of billet aluminum cylinders for Ironhead cases.

Peter Weller rides one of these (or maybe a tamer version:laugh, I'll have to check the type of intake) in "Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension". It's one of those cult classics. My family gets mad every time I put the movie in. They hate it, but it does have a very cool Sportster and a jet powered F150 Ford.

Very much a way. With the XR racing cams put out 96. Now you put another 250 cc with the race cams and the Branch head work. I would be disapointed if it didn't make 100.

AHMEN!!!!! I want it I need it. The only thing I would change is a 2 into 2 high pipe. I might add me a numberplate with #9 on the side too lol. But I don't need anything special from the Motor Company for that lol. This would kill Steve Storz business. Why spend all the money for add on parts from them. When you can get the bike you want from Harley.

Storzs' stuff is nice, but I've always thought it a little too pricey. This might make him lower them a bit. ;)
