Will a 3 inch HurricaneFlow AC be available for the pre 04 Sportys anytime soon?

If not I am just gonna get the 2 inch but really had my hopes on the 3 inch.

Hey Bert ... would've had it done by now, but tis the middle of the busy season. Can't even remember when the last time I took a day off.

I was going to just derive it from the '04 offset version and change the standoff arrangement (and of course eliminate the front plate), but when I really got to looking at it close, I realized the 91-03 standoff arrangement gave me an opportunity to rearrange things a little and pick up maybe another quarter inch of knee clearance. So reworked the design a bit. Over the weekend I cut the first half of the first proto. Should be cutting the second half today. Then make the standoffs.

So it's in the works.

Realistically, counting testing and allowing for interruptions and a design change or two, it's probably 4 weeks from customer shipments. May be able to send you a proto sooner.

Sounds great - I'll go ahead and wait then. I am planning on making a installation video once I get one.

I'm excited about that 3" version too! I think that the wife's bike is calling for it!

As you can see, the standoff arrangement is a bit different. I'm not fixtured up to do the T-bar, I'm doing it in a vise, and that's preventing me from fully machining it so it's a touch crude, but it works. Haven't decided what I'll do for production, making fixtures is time consuming and I'm not sure it's something that really matters. I just like things to look nice, even things you can't see.

Like I said, I managed to move it forward a little more. I'm 5'11 and my knee tucks in behind it, although it'll touch if I skooch forward.

This is the first proto but it came out good. Just got to do some testing and customer shipments can commence.

I apologize to y'all for not being able to participate more, I know there are some unanswered questions here and there, as well as more e-mail than I have time to answer. Got home last night about midnight and I'm just taking a moment to post this stuff as I eat breakfast and I'll be back on the way to the shop. It's our busy season and I'm putting in lots of hours. People don't like to wait for their stuff and I hate to see our lead times get too long so I just work harder, plus I'm trying to wrap up all the flavors of these air cleaners (also doing Buell versions). So bear with me, I'm doing the best I can.

Hey Aaron, you are doing great. It has been snowing for the last week and a half here so I am in no hurry.

The 3 incher looks awesome. It will definately turn some heads here in Germany!!!

looks really good!! can't wait to pick up one of those offset ones...of course...I still have yet to get my bike on the road this year yet due to ice being all over the place...but I can dream that's for sure!

I'm just waiting for my setup for my '04 Custom to show up - UPS says delivery is March 30th!!
