Back with another of my stupid questions... :cry1

I saw lot of nice 70 teeth rear pulleys for Dyna and Softails.
There're stock black, billet aluminium mirror polished or chrome and lot of different styles.

It's not only for look purpose, but I really want to correct that small low-end torque I've lost due to free flow exhaust and to have a bit more acceleration for use between my mountain's climbing and twisties roads.

The eurpean '04 XL has 30t front pulley and 68t rear pulley.
I think with both a 29t front pulley or 70t rear pulley I'll satisfy my needings.

Is it possible to mount a Dyna or Softail rear pulley on '04 XL1200C?

How large is the belt on a stock '04 XL1200 and how much on a stock Dyna or Softail?

Have I to change the belt? I think till 2 teeth more the register has to correct and accept it...

Mechano,

I'm not sure about the Softail pulley, but I do know that a front pulley from an 883 should be one tooth smaller. Since some people with 883's change out their front pulley when they do the 1200 conversion, you might be able to get one cheap. Also, I think the front pulley would be a little cheaper.

Or maybe you could do both...+2 in the rear, -1 in the front. Your front tire would never touch the ground again... :laugh

I've found on eBay a guy who produce lot of wonderful billet products. He'll produce a mirror polished 70t pulley expressely for me for $200 included steel chromed mounting bolts. They produce rims, rotors and pulleys with a matching style.
He asked me if it'll be an interesting product to sell to Sportster users. I told that from '04 Sportsters have 68 teeth pulley and from now new Sportster users who want to change transmission ratio don't have lot of choices...
