Subject: Safety Recall Campaign 0831
Dear Buell Dealer:
Buell Distribution Company, LLC has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists on the accessory (aftermarket) tall windscreen built for the 2006 XB12X Ulysses model motorcycles, part number 58214-06YA. The defect could cause the windscreen to become dislodged while the vehicle is being ridden at highway speed. As a result the windscreen may either strike or distract the rider, thereby possibly causing an accident which could lead to death or injury.
We have voluntarily declared this a defect related to motor vehicle safety (Campaign 0831) to allow us to formally recall all affected motorcycles and parts. The remedy of this issue is to replace the two lower mounting pins with bolts.

Notices will be sent out to all registered owners affected by the recall. This is the initial letter to the dealer that was just sent out today. I just happened to be at the dealer looking some stuff up tonight. :)
