Subject: Safety Recall Campaign 0832
Dear Buell Dealer:
Buell Distribution Company, LLC has decided that the a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists on the sidestand of certain 2006 Buell model XB12X Ulysses motorcycles, built between March 15, 2005 and June 16, 2006. There are two assembly issues that could compromise the sidestand’s performance. As a result of these defects, either the pivot bolt for the sidestand leg or the mounting bracket bolts could break, possibly without notice. If either of these failures occurs, the motorcycle could fall, possibly causing death or injury.
We have voluntarily declared this a defect related to motor vehicle safety (Campaign 0832) to allow us to formally recall all affected motorcycles and parts. The remedy of this issue is to replace the sidestand assembly and fasteners.
...
Just announced by HD/Buell today. All registered owners affected by the recall will receive notification in the mail of the recall.
