I have been scanning around this site and noticed alot of non chrome combinations? Is there a reason? i know chrome holds in heat alot more than say the brushed or satin looks..
what color choice and scheme do you pick and why?
my bike is bright, and shinny.. i love it... but i also am so happy to have the black engine cases.. i dont like the grey/silver/ whatever...

Everyone has their own taste....one person's ugly is another's beautiful ;)
Plus, some folks with newer bikes might not have gotten as far in their transformations as others. I know I have more chrome that I will add a little at a time. Its always a work in progress :)

YUp, all a matter of personal likes. I prefer the black with chrome as an accent. Next tear down will have a lot more black powder coating. Problem is, I can't get into it cuz...

I like the "Either it's chrome, or it's black" idea on this bike. Not to say I'd do every bike I ever own this way. There are so many combos that look good that there is no ONE way. Not to mention the "personal taste" thing.

I love a monchromatic scheme, and as my wife pointed out last week, all of my vehicles have this going on. I guess, subconsciously I didn't even realize I was doing it but I must me drawn to silver, black and chrome! I have a Black '94 GT with chrome Cobra R wheels, a '95 Black Grand Cherokee with a 5" lift, 32" blackwall out BFG MT tires with black steel rims, my wifes '99 Platinum Silver Grand Cherokee with a 2" lift, BFG AT tires & aluminum wheels and now my '03 100th Anniv. Sportster; brilliant silver over vivid black. It came with a bunch of chrome on it, but like others have said, I have quickly begun to personalized it by adding some black accents: smoked lenses & tail light, black air cleaner cover with the Screaming Eagle aluminum insert and a tank bra to compliment the chrome and removed the red rear fender and yellow fork reflectors.

Hmmm...don't really like chrome-but I bought some. Am trading some chrome for wrinkle finish black. Shoot, my bike started out clean and shiny. Then it got dirty. I could wash it...or go ride.

Black & Chrome for me. Now to set off the chrome with some gold accents.
