I'm tired of cages pulling out in front of me when my lights are on - need something to get their attention as a single headlamp just doesn't seem to do it!!! :(
Has anyone done the pulsing headlight mod or the front running lights? Thoughts? Cost? Effectiveness?

You might try a "headlight modulator" which causes a flickering of your headlamp. Here is a good article which explains the basic concept along with some of the pros and cons to those units.

I have a headlight modulator on both my bikes. I'll never ride a bike again without one. They work, period. Get's you noticed. Just may save your ass, and cheap too. Here is a link to my review when I did mine on the Sporty....

Has anyone seen a brakelight modulator that works like newer BMW models. The BMW with have a long flash, going to shorter flashes until solid (takes about 3-4 sec). there are a few in my town and they always grab my eyes when they are applied.

For those near-hit incidents that you survive, you might try carrying a ball peen hammer. More than one custom bike builder has been known to carry one of these to leave a "reminder" in the door panel, window, or mirror of the moronic driver....

LOL!!! Years ago when I lived in Ca I had a hook welded on the frame of my Triumph chop just in front of the seat and I had a trailer hitch ball with one link of chain welded on it to hang on the hook so when cars got too close on the freeway I'd just pick up & show them the ball & they'd back off real quick! :roflblack

I have both the headlight modulator and taillight modulator. I love them; anything to make me more visible is a good thing in my book.
I got both from the same company. http://www.comagination.com/
I purchased the VisiStop IBF4 and the H4 Single Headlight modulator.
The headlight modulator was a tight fit but its in there. As far as the taillight modulator it doesn't keep flashing, flashes 4 times and then goes solid; which I liked. If you are in stop and go traffic it will stop flashing and function like a normal brake light. (so as to not annoy other drivers) Both items conform with California and Federal DOT regulations; so no issues with the police.
The only gotcha with the VisiStop is you can't land the common (negative) under a screw on the fender. You have to splice it into the common (negative) wire that runs to the brake light.
I highly suggest getting them! :tour

I, me, personally, think those flashing head light deals are extremely distracting and I doubt in reality they get you noticed any sooner than a steady light. Maybe, and I can see the argument for it, but I'm not sure it is real.
I mean lets face it folks, people pull in front of huge trucks everyday and say they never saw them.
I've seen a number of bikes with flashing head lights and I didn't notice them any sooner than I did bikes with steady lights. But what I do know is I found the flashing light very distracting. The first time I saw it I thought the guy's bike had a problem. I don't want anyone using any mode of transportation to become fixated on my bike. See me, yes. Fixated, no. Vehicles, cars and bikes, tend to go were the driver's nose goes. Not only could that be a hazard to you but could create a hazard among other drivers and then you.
Flashing brake lights I think is another story. They are "on" during brief periods and in times when vehicles should be slowing and preparing to stop.

Kriss makes both front and rear modulators custom for HD.

I use the VisiPath headlight modulator and HyperLights on the rear.
