Can someone post a pic that shows the rear turn signals relocated using either the HD kit or a similar aftermarket one?

Thanks

i like hoowasat's, but i changed my mind on bags for now, until i can afford the same setup he has.

sorry to hijack the tread, but how come you switched from the clam shell to the windshield hoowasat? if you are looking to find a new home for it, pm me and maybe we can work out a deal

Looks great mbsales. Is that the stock fender just filled in and re-painted?

Thanks ... that's a HD PN 68615-04 turn signal assembly for a BT. Went to the windshield because of the aux-lights ... was wanting to be more visible in traffic. I've already noticed fewer cagers are pulling into my right of way. Sorry, but another XLForum user located in Williamsburg, VA already jumped on the sport fairing.

That does look cool. I like it much better than the normal relocation above the tail light. I think I'll go that route when I finally purchase some detachable bags.

This relocate kit is still on the fender strut but relocates them back further. It came with a chrome plate to bolt into the other mount location to clean it up.

Mine were slid back when the previous owner had throw over bags and mounts for them installed. I liked the location so I kept them there after I bobbed the fender.

And what turn signals are those? That's a pretty smooth look.

It's called a "Teardrop", available through Dennis Kirk or JP Cycles for about $23.00. The turn signals are dual element Deuce (stock front) with one inch spacers.

Is it possible to remove the 'stalk' from the rear turn signals to mount them nearly flush to the rear fender? Same principle as what Stangely Brown has but then w/ the stock signals?

How do you get the freakin stock stalks off?????
My wife can't reach the passenger pegs with my bags in front of the signals. I've unbolted the stalks, but can't get them to move. I'm missing something! I have a Hugger, so there's NO clearance between the tire & the fender to work with. Any assistance would be appreciated.
I've thought about lights like StrangelyBrown's, but don't know if they'd be visible with bags. They sure look nice, though.

There's a nut inside the turnsignal head housing. On my '03, I had to remove the bulb & inner reflector to expose it.

Sorry for the late reply. I'm sure they are HD components. The guy that had it before me had all the work done at my local dealership.

here is a pic of mine. No part numbers--I made it.http://xlforum.net/photopost/data/690/tail_lights_top.jpg
To get off the rear turn lights you have to remove the fender strut.
1st thing is to unplug them from the tail light assy.
then take out the bolts and nuts that hold the fender struts to the side of the fender.
There is a nut inside the chrome strut.
remove that and pull the wires thru.
Once the strut is off the bike you can push the pins thru the connectors and pull the wires thru the struts.
Reassy the struts.
install the lights in their new location.
snake the wires thru.
put the connectors back on and plug them in.

Ahah! Their dirty secret's exposed. Thanks a bunch. I'm quite mechanically adept, and have worked in a production factory for over 20 years. That was very frustrating to me. DUH!
