I'm curious what some of you are wanting to do to your bikes next. I want a fork brace and steering damper but pretty much broke the bank with the 1200 conversion. Maybe with my tax refund in Jan.

Chin Spolier, Changed Headlight to a scalloped bottom mount going to powercoat it balck (less trim ring) to go with my theme. See your post on New threat for the other ideas. Ask you about bar end mirrors. Bobbing the rear end. Black 440's on butt. Possible solo seat (wife would kill me :shhhh )

I'm thinking something along the line of a chin spolier and headlamp visor. I also want to go with a narrower, lower bar. I can't do an "m" bar as I still do a bit of 2-up riding. I was going to get a solo seat with the built in mini-fender off the back like to old racers had, but my girlfriend flipped out :yikes , so that was scratched :frownthre . :bump

As far as making it go better, not much for now. I'm getting a pro-series Hyperchearger just for the looks, and I would love a set of the BUB Rihnehart pipes, but $750 is awful steep  (I've seen them for around $550 on ebay).

Until the motor gets taken down (I'm waiting for the warranty to run out), that'll have to do. After that, who knows? I did a little re-furb on a buddy's 1949 Ford 8N tractor (24hp flahead), and ever since I've been itching to dig into a motor again.

Sorry for the smilies, but I had to try them out. :o

G'day Guys

This time I'm finally goin rearsets...

Got the fork brace...machined it up myself
got a steering dampner
got a HD mini fairing (and I've made a mould off it and cut two holes out for mini spot lights)
Got the 2-1 but gonna have to play with exhaust design again
got twin discs but putting 4 spot Brembos on this time
got 11's out of it but that's not enough so it's going 88" bombed :D
probably gonna trim the rear guard off
lookin at makin up some billet alloy parts just to finish it off
AND I'm finally thinking of putting some decent but subtle paint on it...

Love the bars!!!!!!! Have been waiting for a sunny day to take and post some pictures. Was a bit apprehensive on the riser. Have a 3-inch with a curve, and thought I might have to go back to the 1-inch to reduce the mini-ape look and to give better definition. But after the install, I was glad we didn't change. I wanted the higher bar with more pull back to relieve the back pain I was getting on long rides. I was laying to far forward over the tank with the OEM bars. The standard HD Sportster pull back bar just didn't trill me. Although I'm 6ft 4in, its long in the body and shorter in the legs and arms. after two hours of riding, I sometimes couldn't even get off the bike.........though, my wife tends to think its more of an age thing.

Hopefully, the sun will shine tomorrow I can can post the pics:cool2
