Is it possible to remove the 'stalk' from the rear turn signals to mount them nearly flush to the rear fender?
Anyone done this or used those mini markers that also mount flush?

I made short spacers out of aluminum and moved mine in about 1/2" from the struts (stock turn signals, 04 sportster.) I ran the wires through split loom, and I think it looks 100% better than having them sticking out about a foot on the stockers. I originally tried Deuce stems, but really didn't like them (they are about 1/2 as long as stock) Really a pretty simple project to clean things up. I like my sporty looking light and tight.

I put a set of mini markers on my buddies sporty for him. They look great, they are not as noticable as the stock ones when you are turning though

Bought my bike used. The previous owner removed the stems and had 3 washers as spacers for each turn signal. I never thought much of it until one day a cager pulled up to me and said my tail/brake light was pretty bright and easy to see but she could not easily see my signals when I was making turns. I haven't moved them out yet since I will be making some winter time mods that will affect that area but it did point out the importance (IMO) of having them out from the fender. Of course, I've only ever had one person say anything about it....but it only takes one person to not see you!

Thanks guys! Any of you have pics up in the gallery that will illustrate this?

I put 3 pics in the galleries. They were taken on the day I brought it home. The right side lens cover is off but if you look at the close up of it you can see the washers used for spacers. Washers look ugly as sin though. If you decided to bring the turnsignals inward, I would try to get an old piece of chrome and make a spacer...or a nice piece of stainless tubing...anything but washers!

This is not exactly what you asked for. This is the turn signal relocation/Slant plate from HD.
