In March this year, I bought and installed the HD Aux Lighting kit. They worked great until I was riding home to Maine from NJ last week and they both went out. I checked the wiring, relay and switch and all are ok. I can see 12 volts switching at the lamp terminals using a voltmeter, but they do not light up. Seems to me the lamps themselves have gone bad. I'm going up to the dealer this week to see what they will do for me. I hope they at least kiss me first 'cause I think they're going to say something like " Sorry sir, but there's no warranty on electrical parts." Any of you folks had issues with these lights?

I've had mine on nearly a year (fitted 9th Aug 05) and no problems. And I have them on all the time. Hope you get your problem fixed and it's not too expensive.

Are you getting your 12 volts at the relay terminals? If your getting 12 volts at the lights when the switch is thrown then the bulbs must be bad. Also, there is a fuse on the spotlight wiring loom on the power wire I believe but that doesn't sound like your problem.

ive the same lights on my 03 custom ever since i hit a deer. i had trouble with them just going out. seems like the little wire clip that holds the bulbs ingets weak. tossed out many a good bulb before i figured it out. glad most any auto parts store carry them in off road version

Hi folks,

The news on this is .............
No they didn't kiss me, and yes the service manager gave me 2 options - buy new bulbs or not!, He did say there's no way HD would warranty the bulbs. So, I went to talk to Mandy, the store manager at Meredith Harley Davidson in North Conway, NH and she is replacing them at no charge to me. Thank you all for your ideas and responses. I do appreciate it.

If the bulbs don't turn out to be the problem then look for an intermitant short. My lights started going out and then mysteriously coming back on about 6 months after I had them installed. Turned out the seat was pinching the wires down to the point where the insulation was worn off and they would short out randomly.
