View Full Version : Scott's running naked at El mirage...

Scott just passed tech inspection at El Mirage this morning. He will be running the bike without the fairing in the morning (naked class) 1350cc A/PG. Scott is #27 out of 200 in this year's SCTA points championship. That meeans he will run 27th in the morning, probably about 8:30am. The current record in the class is 166.431 and he said he will only make one pass to save the motor for next month's El Mirage meet. This will help him stay up in the points and keep his starting number low.

Good luck to Scotty.......166 mph is pretty windy on a naked bike........pray for safe and fast.

Scott's done for the day. He ran 156 and then found an oil leak. He packed it up and is headed home.

Good news and maybe some bad news. Good news is that if my math is right I did make the top 10 for bikes with one meet to go........if I can make one more good pass next month it should seal me in the top 10 for bikes. This was a goal of mine at the start of the year to make the top 10 for bikes and top 25 for car and bikes. I am still waiting for the results from the race to see if I made the top 25.

Bad news is I got a bad oil leak and am still looking for the source, it's still early and I haven't had much time to hunt it down.......I am hoping I haven't cracked the case.

I heard from Scott earlier, but I was gonna wait to see if he was gonna run again before I posted. Looks like he is done for today with the Buell.
Scott ran 153 with an 11 mile an hour headwind today on the Buell. He said it started leaking oil pretty bad and he was spinning the tire all the way down the track. The wind was picking up more and he probably won't run again today. He will run the Busa tomorrow. More updates as I get them.

Head winds .... Too bad ... I believe he is going to tear down the Buell now ... I am curious as to how the rice burner will run.
