Have heard the '07 883's are getting the "W" grind cams and I have a set of '04 "W" cams and am considering putting them into my '06 taxes paid XL883. Is there any advantage to doing so and are there any other changes I'd have to make to timing/carb, etc?

Not worth the trouble by themselves. Wait untill you really need to get in there....unless you're REALLY boared.

The MoCo says 15% torque gain. If the price is right it's not that hard. If you want to do it, do it. Plus later if you do more upgrades you've already got cams.:banana

I've already got the '04 "W" cams (not installed) but expect to do the NRHS flattop 1212 conversion with the NRHS "secret" head/valve work & Dan @ NRHS has informed me that with that pkg the .536's are the way to go so I'm just wondering if it's worth the time/effort/$$ to install the "W" cams in the meantime or better off to just wait until winter & do the conversion & .536's all at once.

Just wait and do it all at once. It will be a waste of time and money to put those cams in right now. It wont be long until you take the whole thing apart so just wait until you can do everything at once.

If you're going to put in the other cams anyway then yeah, just wait. Don't do it twice. It's not THAT much fun.;)
