I met Dennis Schaefer today, He is the Speciality Service Tool Lead and Developmental Service Engineer for H/D.
I was late for work today as I had to take my little Gianna to Kindergarten. When I got to the whiteroom, I knew he was in the shuttle getting a tour, so when one of the qualities asked me why I was late, I made the statement that my brand new Harley had broken down again.:roflblack :roflblack Dennis's head spun around and when he saw I was laughing, he got a good chuckle out of my little joke on him.:D
I told him I was a Sportster owner and that my 06 has over 13000 miles in 10 months without a single hiccup or leak.:clap
The Sportster is my first H/D and I was a little apprehensive when I first bought it, thinking it might not be reliable. The bike has proven to be as solid as a rock.:tour :tour :tour
Dennis was pleased to hear this and we discussed the many things that make the new bikes better, rubber mounting, helical gears, etc. I told him the only thing I wish my bike had was a trap door for the tranny to make servicing it better. He seemed excited that H/D is finally all fuel injected except for the Blast.
I told him of my project, putting the Buell front end on the Sportster and he gave me his email address so I could send him pics of my progress and if I needed any help to give him a call.
I will email him with my Buell front end project and tell him about our forum.
Perhaps he will chime in and answer our questions or maybe just lurk and take heed to our suggestions on how to make our bikes better.
You never know:dunno :dunno
