Just thought I would show you guys what happens when you use the wrong oil tank and oil flow is not there. Enjoy the pics. My motor ran for about two miles before it almost seized. Runs great now that I have it bored out to 1250. Glad I roasted it, I think.

Wow great pics...er...sort of...you know what I mean :)
I guess that they don't call oil the "life blood" of your engine for nothing.
Glad you got her back on the road!!

This was the result of putting a post 93 oil tank on the bike and adding a vent hole without knowing that post 93's oil differently. I learned that someparts are not meant to be modified and the oil tank is one of those.

interesting...you'd think an oil tank is just a container with a supply and return...

Pistons are good as paperweights/ashtrays ..... ;)
I think the rest of the engine was ok?
The GSXR of a friend blew up on the Autobahn (broken connecting rod on Cyl.#1). The pics I saw where 'special' ... :frownthre

I used the pistons to decorate my garbage. The cracks in them would make them marginal paperweights since eventually parts would start falling off. I needed to change the leaky head headgaskets and base gaskets. It was a good reason to change.
