I'm thinking of getting a POrkster tank for my '89. Looking at them in catalogs, I seem to prefer the porkster shape over the Mustang tank. I'd just like to see one on a bike before I buy. If I don't like it on a bike, I might buy a King tank. That one I know looks good...Only thing is that the porkster has one gallon more capacity than a king tank.

I thought the Pokster was 3.3 gal and the King was 3.1 gal.?
The Porkster and a solo seat in that pic isn't very attractive.
However, my neighbor has a Porkster on his 79 and it looks good with a 2-up seat.

the Porkster I'm looking at is 4.2 gallon, and yes the King is 3.1 gallon.

hhhmmmm, I can see that it's just about a unanimous decision...everyone seems to hate the Porkster...or hemerrhoid?
Jireh cycles has a 3.4 gal King tank (could be a misprint) that comes with an aircraft style gas cap, $150. I might get that one.

I never did like the look of the Porkster. I prefer the stretched tank they sell at Jireh.http://xlforum.net/photopost/data/500/44rtside-med.jpg

Personally, it's just my opinion. No one will think any less of you if that is what you like. It's your bike, do what you like and be happy.

I think I'll get the King tank. I love the shape of the sportster tank, absolutely love it. And to tell you the truth, looking at that pic, I don't think the Porkster will do the bike justice. The king tank goes much better with the lines of the bike. Thanks for helping me decide!

I have seen a few bikes around here with the Porkster tank. It kinda looks like a woman with Double D's that weighs 100lbs! It just ruins any balance the bike might have had. I have one of jireh's stretched 4 gallon tanks on mine. My avatar pic is of the bike from last year. I think it goes very well with the color and the cafe racer theme I am going for. :tour

I saw my first sportster in '59 and no other tank belongs on it.
