So I'm checking in on some W cams. Could someone out there list all the specific years and models that the W cams came on? Also, are they all the same, or do they have variations from different years?
I know that pre-04 they were on the 1200S but when did that begin?

1200s had "W" cams from 98 to 03, the 96 + 97 1200s had reg old XL cams.

Thanks, just trying to determine whether or not to go with an N2/W at all. I know I will never do headwork, so this would be as far as I go. seems that the decision is about split on the value of doing it. found a seller for $50 shipped on some W cams

I'm thinking the W cams are for pre-2000 engines; there is a difference in the number of teeth on one of the gears.
Won't N4 cams give serrow the boost he's looking for? Would he be better off getting a good port and polish rather than cams at this stage of the game?

I believe i would need a bit of headwork as .497 is the most that will fit in a stock 883 head. I'm having some valves work on, but no porting of the heads at the moment.
I'm honestly just trying to talk myself into it. Guy is offering to sell em at a reasonable cost, but I don't want to tear into that part unless it will make a diff. The conversion itself will have me sweating it out enough already.

There was a pinion gear change in 2000. If you buy cams from before that you'll need to change the pinion gear on the #2 cam....Not worth it. Just make sure they're from 2000 or above and you'll be good to go. Look for stockers out of a '04 and up 1200. They have the "W"s...The 883's have the "D" cams.

You might try calling the dealership; the service manager should know. Or call Andrews Products.

The new 2007 883's have W cams too.
So to sum up
1200S from '98-'03
1200 '04-up
883 '07-up
That's it that I know of.
If interested I have an extra set of W cams and a set of SE .497 (N4) cams if you are interested let me know.
