lately i am having real difficulty getting my 2003 sportster xl into 1st gear all other gears work fine it makes a noise like it's in gear but it doesn't engage any suggestions the clutch has been adjusted so i know that isn't the problem would appreciate any help thanks dave

Were you having this problem before the clutch was adjusted?

yes i was having the problem before i adjusted clutch

Try adjusting your primary chain per the FM.
