I was planning to install the HD Pull Back Handlebars (56021-04) on my wife's '04 XL883C to put her in a more upright position for her back.

Has anyone installed them and is there a significant difference between the stock bars and the pull backs? Do they put you closer to an upright position like an FLSTC?

Thanks,

Tony

I had the dealer put the HD pullback bars on my 05 before I took delivery because I was just leaned too far forward with the stock bars. They did help a little...I'm definitely more upright...enough to be fairly comfortable anyway. But, its not enough for me to get a seat that might move me back. I'm still using the stock seat, but want a better one. I have to make sure to get one that either moves me a bit closer to the bars and keeps me where I'm at.

The buckhorn bars might have been better, but I didn't know I had the choice for those when I bought the bike.

I'm not a big fan of the buckhorns particularly since They came out with the 883L. The best bar I've ever had. I don't remember the part # but theyre exclusive to the "L" model. I added 4 1/2" pullback risers to really sit me up straight.

The 883C like I have came with BIG riser on it so they told me that was the most riser I could get on there. I like the pullback bars....I like the look better than I think I would the buckhorn for sure. So, for me, anyway, its going to be all about the seat I choose :)

Kath and willprevale thank you for the information. I am thinking the pull backs will make a big difference for my wife. She isn't a big fan of the buckhorn look.

Kath, we got her the Corbin Gunfighter & Lady because she could barley go 50 miles in one sitting with the stock seat. We road to Sturgis last year and had no problems doing 110 to 120 between gas stops. Just her shoulders and back were sore from the leaning position. But, the specs for the sporty are right in line for her height and the seat position fit like a glove. Usually a custom seat maker can push you forward in the saddle. I would look at someone who specializes in ergonomics. I had a guy (Rich's Custom Seats) push me back 1 1/2 inches on mine and boy did it make a difference.

Thanks again for your info.
