Just installed the TC88a ignition module. Took all of 5 minutes from removing the old one and installing the new one. Just two nuts to remove and the cable that plugs in. A few things I have noticed after the first ride with installed:

1. Bike needs much less enricher to start and needs it left on a much shorter period of time.
2. Bike seems to shift smoother at all rmp's and in all gears. After releasing clutch power is right there. I find myself shifting now at much higher speeds because it feels so much smoother.
3. Bike idles better and sounds better at idle.
4. Power is smoother at all rmp's as well. Seems to be easier to keep in low rpm's like when stuck in traffic and doing 85 to 90 on the freeway has ever seemed so smooth.

I did experience a little pingin when set to 3 and 5, don't have the PC link cable yet, after a long hard ride, hitting a light and then taking off again. Which dial should I decrease to remedy this?

Once I've secured the PC link cable and loaded one of Turbota's custom maps I expect even better results. Keep your eyes on ebay, I got mine brand new for less than $80 shipped.

For now, keep the 1st dial at #3. Back the second dial off 1 notch at a time. It will really be much better with Ron's MAPPs. He's back on the boards, so you better get him while you can.

Thanks, I'll try that for the ride home today.

I contacted Ron today and he's emailing me the MAPPs tomorrow. Didn't realize he was 12 hours difference where he is. Working with someone to loan me a cable as well. So hopefully in about a week or so I should be able to load them. Looking forward to that.

Don't want to step on Shamdogs toes, but Twin Tech say to reduce initial timing if you experience knocking only at low rpms.

Seajay - You're correct about that. What I was trying to point out was that the first dial is for the way the bike is set up. It's the second dial that sets how aggressively the curve comes on. Honestly, without more info, I'd dial down the second dial first. If that didn't work, then I'd set it back to #5 and back off the initial timing a hair, and then start the whole process over.

BTW - You NEVER have to worry about stepping on my toes. I don't know even close to everything...In fact, I just barely know anything.

Hey Michael,

I emailed you Ron's custom map.
I will send you my cable when i get your shipping payment. I would have covered shipping but currently unemployed...

Leo,
Got the map and will send $ for the shipping tomorrow. No worries on that. It is enought that you are offering it for me to borrow. Truly appreciate that. Nice to find trusting folks still in the world. Now off to download the necessary software.

Thanks again to all for the help and the suggestions.

You did install the white wire for programming, right? Is it an 883 or 1200, the maps are different. I'm using Ron's 33* map on a stage 1 1200C, and the bike runs perfect.

Don't have the cable or other stuff necessary yet to upload the MAPP. Just running now off of the dials.
