I have recently become confused when I hear terms like these that reference the word "service":
Internal Revenue "Service"
U.S. Postal "Service"
Telephone "Service"
Cable T.V. "Service"
Civil "Service"
Public "Service"
Customer "Service"
"Service" Station
What they provide is not what I thought "service" means.

Then today I overheard two Old Ranchers talking, and one of them said he had "hired a bull to 'service' a few cows."

BAM!!! It all came into perspective. I now understand what all those other "service" agencies are doing to us.
I hope you are now as enlightened as I am.
