My wife and I argued today about which bike was more able to pull off a wheelie (not saying either one of us can, or want to) her 94 sporty stock, or my 77 ironhead stock. she says mine wouldn't get off the ground as she belives my bike is 300 lbs heavier then hers. I don't think it's that much. What do you guys say?

I don't want to either. Don't know if i can. My EVO has a lot more torque and more Hpower than my Iron. The Iron is pretty well stock; i do not know what is in the EVO as the work was done by an unknown prev owner. Ya, the iron feels heavier, but 300 lbs? I don't know about that.

I suppose i could take them both out in the snow right now and have a go at it. Pass.

Guess i didn't answer the ques much.

The 94 was about 490 lbs, so 300 more is much to high, but then again with age most of us gain weight! :o

i know for a fact that a 2000 XL1200S will lift the front wheel, and there are numerous videos and pics of Team Contraband doing wheelies on stock 883's.

My old '66 (pictured in "30 yrs ago") would stand straight up with the 10" over springer on it. My best friend had a beautiful chopped Shovel Head with a 10" over wide glide front end on it. It was the best wheelie machine around.

Romping mine hard in 1st from a 5mph roll won't lift the tire, it just takes off. I get the tire to get upa hair on the shift to second..maybe a couple inches.
