This was a run I did on an 1/8 mile track. I ran a 7.6 on this run but I completely lost it out of the hole. You can just see the start of the front coming up on me in the pic. For some reason the rear hooked up waaaay more than usual and I almost lost it. Still beat the destroyer though :D :D :D I think he got scared because he came out REALLY hard and then backed off.
The best I ran on that day was a 7.2. 8000' ASL I won outright even against a Suzuki something with wheelie bars and an average rider.

Is that guy on the left "Stevo"? If not, he's got an evil twin.

Edit: That's you? Dang, are you and Stevo brothers?

That must have really ate that guy up. There he is in head to toe leather, wheelie bars and you look like you just drove off the street from the local HD dealer...lol. Hell...you didnt even bother putting your visor down!! Nice smack down dude.:banana

Thanks all and yes, it was fun.

Yeah I keep forgetting that Ralph. All too busy looking at the tree and I forget stuff. :D Don't really notice it much on the 1/8 mile but on the 1/4 mile you kind of realise when you get to 80 or so.

The funniest thing that day was a guy who bought a nice shiny new VROD and got it modified by the dealer. Everything they could do to it, they did.
I beat his ass too and then heard him complaining to the salesman who he'd bought it from that he wanted a refund. He was saying that the salesman lied to him because he was promised that no other Harley would beat him in a drag race with the mods he got put on. The salesman didn't have too much to say.
The lil Sporty shut quite a few people up that day and I walked away with a VERY big head.
Superman for day...... Felt good. :tour :tour

Great work, Cam!

Glad to hear you are using that modified Sporty like God intended it to be used. Kicking ass and taking names on the high-dollar bikes; a beautiful thing.

Keep it up and enjoy.

Priceless! You look like you just stumbled onto the track next to that VROD. He looks like he spent more on his Motorclothes™ than you did on your bike. Are you wearing sneakers? :roflblack

You did the Ham-cams proud, man! :clap :banana :clap :banana

Congrats on you wins at the drag strip. He could have had the fastest HD out there however it sounds like his drag skills suck!:dunno Maybe a different ride that vrod could have cleaned house.

...Cam you must have a bit of Burt in ya!!!:p

You are da Man, reminds me of my days in Colorado where I...er uh, ummm...I heard of some illegal acceleration contests, which I did my best to stop due to the dangerous aspects of it. Anyhow I guy whom had eventually became a very good friend had this Vega, not a Pro Street killer but a mild little street car that seemingly could not be beat. His spiel was He would race anyone for a price...car or bike, he seldom lost but when he did he was cool....I think I am wondering and not making any sense and going on and on and..........................

Great job, very memorable day for ya. As they say,it all doesnt matter cept who gets the "W" on the time slip.
Getting the front end up like that is a good sign...it means you werent leaving anything on the table ....you were getting all the power to the ground.....a cool thing to see is a launch where the front end comes up so immediately that the front wheel doesnt even spin in the air.
Great job, way to go get 'em.

Great Job :banana

Make's me think the Vrod overpowered the track and the rider couldn't get it to bite or should I say parking lot :frownthre Was this a heads up or dial in race ??

That guy could always sell that 30K plus bike and find a 8.70's bike on Dragbike and still have over 20K is his wallet :roflblack

Thats what legends are made of, they will be talking about that day for a looooonnnnggggg time. I remember this one time this guy was on this small bike with jeans on and he beat everybody. EVERYBODY!!!! It will be called... "The World's Fastest Sporty" now who is the main actor....???
