I am thinking of getting a set of the Samson Caliber over / under pipes. Anybody tried them. I was wondering if they sound good and are good for performance. I have to get rid my drag pipes, they are killing arounf 3000 RPM since I installed SE cams.

I like pie, especially cherry pie :). Don't know if a pie named Sampson sounds too tasty though.

I have the 2-1 Caliber and really like it. Its very well-made. The sound is kind of mellow and very deep. It will bark when you really get on it though. My only complaint (and the reason I'm getting rid of it this winter) is that it will only work with forward controls. I'm planning on switching back to mids and neither the Samson website, nor the Dennis Kirk site lists this pipe as fwd control only. In terms of performance, I think the NRHS page has a dyno sheet or two of bikes with this exhaust. All-in-all, a very nice system.
Cheers,
Luke

Sometimes I get a little "bullet".
But I would really like a 2-into-1 Pie. Pecan into apple, please.

Don't worry about it. One of your critics couldn't spell Meringue.

For those of you who have them, how is the ground clearance? Better or worse than stock?

They taste like Chicken. I just got em on. I have never had stock pipes, but I know they set way lower than my drag pipes did. I scrapped them in my parking lot. I just took my bike around the block real quick after I put them on, but I could tell a huge difference in the performance. My bike has not ran right since I installed SE cams, but these pipes seemed to take care of my problems.
