Was thinking of pyutting a 120/70/19 on my front end since the scrawny 90/90/19 bottoms out on every bump and the ride is harsh. I think a bigger front fender would be cool anyway. I don't like mine currently and the paint on that part needs some love anyway. WHo knows how wide I can go on a 2.5 inch wheel. Will the tire above fit.

Hey Ralph...

I'm running that same tire size on my bike with a 2.75" front wheel. To be honest, everywhere I looked, I'm 1/4" narrower than I really should be already (The 120/70R19 generally calls for a 3" rim minimum).

I would say that safely you could do a 110, though you won't find a 110 in a low-profile size.

110 is about it.

Turns out it is a 3" OD wheel and a 120/70/19 was able to be put on. It took a person with a tire mounting machine who actually knew how to use it. The tire is mounted and looks great. Going to use a 140/70/16 on the rear also.

Coming together nicely Ralph, I've got a 120 on the front with the Buell rim and it looks good.

Waiting on my spacer for the wheel. I thought it was the axle spacing but further investigation yielded the 1 and 3/8's spacer was the culprit.

you can put wider tires on narrower wheels, it just makes the crown of the tire steeper due to the sucked in sidewalls....I'm running a 120 on a 2.15 wheel, untill I get the 3" wheel on w/ new forks

It does that along with sealing issues....:geek:geek:geek

seals easier and quicker....just like putting a 15" wide super swamper on a 8" wheel....Opposite for narrow tires on a wide wheel...need a can of ether and a lighter:smoke:geek :geek :geek
