Anyone out there with Supertrapp XR-style highmounts on a rubber mounted Sporty? I've been thinking about putting a set on my '04, but i'm wondering how that cantilever mounting bracket works? I know it's attached in two places at the pulley cover. But how far back does that bracket go? How much of those two big mufflers is hanging off the back of that bracket? That kinda worries me. Thanks guys.

Go to SuperTrapps website and look at the picture (also on the downloadable instructions) of the 2:2's. You'll see welded on brackets (between the megaphones) just prior to the secondary cone(s). The cantilevered mounting bracket runs from those brackets up to the pulley cover.

There are a couple of forum members here- with those ST's on their rubbermounts, hopefully they'll read this and report back. BTW- there are actually more of those Bub/Storz 2into2 XR style pipes being mounted on rubbermounts than the ST's...

the rubbermounts are tougher to install aftermarket exhaust pipes cuz ya can't use the frame to brace it......

The Storz/BUB pipes mount about the same way. But they are shorter and there is not so much mass hanging back there. So far so good after about 200 miles. BTW, they are loud...about 8/10.

Thanks, guys. BTW, i live in the San Francisco area, been riding for over 30 years, just bought an '04 Roadster, my first Harley. I've wanted a Sporty since the 60's. Trying to decide between Supertrapp 2:1 and the XR-style high pipes. I know the high pipes aren't too practical, but they're just so cool.

With the way the exchange rate is at the moment, these could be quite reasonable for you guy's in the states

XLdaveR: those pipes look great. How loud are they?

Dave, although those pipes are quite attractive, I do note that the header pipes are not really equal length- like the two other systems mentioned in this thread...

...yeah, I agree. The front header pipe needs to be more like the S/T. I like the Harris mufflers, nice and short

Not to sure, not my bike.
I've only heard the Harris 2-1. They are load, but not as load as the rinehart 2-1 I have which has a much deeper rumble to it
