Sorry if I ramble a little bit, been up for almost 24 hrs with inventory at work and am a little off ( okay more than usual).
I just did an early 17,500 maintenance, changing the engine and primary oil
(I don't believe in waiting every 5k to do that.)
( I have been using Syn-3 since 12500 after my 1200 conversion at 11500).
Anyway, there was a fair amount of metal fuzz on the primary plug magnet. There was a similar amount when I did the 15k service. Is this something to worry about or is the magnet just doing it's job?
Seperate rant: In the owners manual, under the 17,500 maintenance, it states " Inspect trasmission lubricant and clean magnetic drain plug."
How in the world would you do this without draining the tranny? And if you drain the tranny, why would you not replace the fluids? :wtf
