I wonder if a 2004 could be hacked up and made into one? Or if I should just buy and old Evo sporty and rob the tank and motor... pilot 29th November 2004, 19:15 Those kits do look good don't they? I dunno about an '04, the mounting is a little different, hell I'd buy a used Buell motor to throw in there. I'm toying with idea of going that route for my next sporty project. xl1200r 30th November 2004, 16:51 does anyone here speak japenese? Ic an't get a price on the damn thing... gordy 30th November 2004, 18:11 No need the guys at zero- engineering speak english and are based in the states pilot 30th November 2004, 19:55 Click where it says pdf catalogue up at the top right, you have to have adobe acrobat reader, frame kit is $1699, rollers go from $3,999 to $7,999 depending on how complete. Not a bad way to have a sweet ride if you already have a donor bike. Hell the parts you would have left over would bring some cash back to you. Dug 1st December 2004, 11:13 Here are the prices of the Rolling Chassis Kits Road Hopper No 1 kit Type 1 ( hydraulic forks ) $3,499 Type 2 ( springer forks ) $3,999 No. 2 kit type 1 $6,499 type 2 $6,999 No. 3 kit type 1 $7,399 type 2 $7,999 Frame only $1,699 willprevale 1st December 2004, 11:51 That's my idea of the classic chopper. :clap xl1200r 1st December 2004, 19:16 Guys, I'm trying to navigate the site and I can't do it. Nothing is maing sense, and it won't let me download the pdf. Can someone send it to me? gearhead 1st December 2004, 20:55 here ya are pdf in jpg format (http://work.hardy.ro/xlforum/zero-eng.jpg) xl1200r 3rd December 2004, 19:26 Thanks gearhead, you'r a lifesaver. I have to say, these are probably the best looking bike kits out there, and the kicker is that they are SO affordable! $8,000 for the most complete kit (I have to get the springer), and all you need to donate is paint, engine, and a little time. What's sweet about these bikes is you don't need a high -hp engine for it! Just something to cruise with - like a stage 1 1200. It's not like that rear tire would hook up anyways! Does anybody know what kind of compontents they use? Who makes the brakes, sprockets, front ends, etc. At a price like that, I would have to worry about quality issues... chupacabra 3rd December 2004, 20:48 Those are some pretty nice looking bikes. I've been tempted lately by the rolling chassis kit from Flyrite choppers in Austin. $2700 (includes shipping) for their bobber rolling chassis (springer front end). http://www.flyritechoppers.com/whitneye/Flyritechopperscom.nsf I probably won't tear into my sporty for a while, but like I say, tempting.... The one thing though that seems like it's a bitch is handling the titling and insurance on a "custom" chopper when you lose the stock frame. Any of you delt much with that type of thing in Texas? pilot 3rd December 2004, 21:35 Those Flyrite rolling chassis are very reasonable, as are the Sucker Punch Sallys, but they are BT frames. Now if they made a roller for a sporty that was that price, I'd buy one in a heartbeat!! |
