I am gonna start a new function which I am gonna call Featured Sportsters.

The featured Sportster will have it's own webpage linked from the the main page at www.xlforum.net .

Seeing as right now I can not travel to all the locations where the great Sportsters will be I am asking those that would like to have their bikes features to provide me with the photos. I will provide you with a questionaire and a stats sheet to fill out.

I will try to do one or two Sportys a month.

Anyone can have their Sporty featured, just let me know.

So who wants to be first?? PM or email me. You can email me from my profile page.

Oh yeah, Buells are included also!!!!

Bert...You Bastard. You waited until I had mine all torn apart to do this, didn't you?

Well, when I get her all back together you're gonna eat your heart out.

Bert,
I would be glad to go first, but I don't have a digital camera... Maybe I can come up with one this weekend.

Sounds like a good idea! You can use me as a test subject if you want. What all do you need?

I think this is a great idea. If I had a digital camera and my bike was done I would gladly send you photos. Once both those things get taken care of, I will be sure to submit it.

Bert-

Sounds great. Tell us:

-how many pix you would like in a profile?
-any preference for file type/size limitation?
-any particular shots you'd like to see (i.e. both sides in profile, front, back, over the top)?
-any preferred close-ups or just what we think best characterizes our specific ride?
-a checklist of mods to accompany pix?

Bert, Will you be providing the scantily clad models (both male and female...gotta be PC, ya know) to accompany our pictures? If so, how long do we get to keep the models? Can some come from OZ, huh, Bert, can they? Can they? :D

Soory Danz, I stopped doing this a while back. There did not seem to be much interest. I will start it backup if people want it.

Bert,

Haven't thought this through so bare with me but what about having it be like a "user's choice" type deal where members vote for he next featured bike?

Thinking maybe start a thread each month where folks who are interested in having their bikes featured post a couple pics and some info. Kinda like a job interview only less formal.

And the focus doesn't have to be just on the bike but on the rider as well. Maybe a guy/girl hasn't done a bunch to their ride but they have a great story behind it or something.

Then give say a week for folks to vote on who they want featured by a poll.

I don't know, could be more trouble than it's worth but might work. My thoughts being to generate member activity and include folks who might think their rides don't qualify.

Like I said, just brainstorming...

Dude, I've noticed you posting lately and wondered if you were "really" back. You don't know me as you were "leaving" the forum about the time I was joining but I sure know that bike. I've mentioned it often in posts. As I recall you thought you might have to sell it, hope that didn't come to pass.

Either way, it is cool to have you back and I know the others will dig it too.

Sorry to stray...:tour

It is great to see you back!

For anyone who would like to have their Sporty featured please follow the instructions in this thread: http://xlforum.net/vbportal/forums/showthread.php?t=9962

ANYONE can submit their bike. It does not need to be a wild custom or a superquick monster. As Gotwa says it is not only about the bike but the rider also.

Yeah that is really what I was getting at. Don't have to be radical, just tell the story.

Yep, I am really back. Never sold the bike, but it was down for a bit, while we investigated some noises. Everything is fixed and working well, looks like the bugs are all out of it now. I have just been real busy with work and what not - its nice to feel missed.
