View Full Version : 19" Mag wheels for DYNA?!?

Would a 19" 3/4 axle hole front mag wheel for a Dyna work on a Sportster? I would like to (hopefully) change out to a 19" front wheel sooner rather than later, and I have thought about taking a mag wheel and powder-coating it black.

Any opinions, thoughts, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks in advance for responding!

I believe for your bike the 00-05 dyna wheels will fit. Not 100% on this though.

Yeah RR, I'm thinking it should work, but I wanted to ask here be sure before I bought something that won't end up fitting properly.

Any one else done this, or know if it should work?

RR is right. Dyna wheels from '00-onward will fit your bike.

Actually, the earlier ones will fit too if you carry over the rotors.

Didnt it switch to sealed bearings in 00? could you reuse your stock sealed bearings in a wheel made prior to 00?

...except wheels from a wideglide. OK I think that covers it!

Yeah, but the earlier tapered bearings will work on his (everyone's) axle. The only change the sealed bearings necessitate is to the later rotors, which have a larger 2.215" center bore versus the earlier 1.975". You can't re-use the sealed bearings, you just switch to tapered ones.

You really can't re-use sealed bearings in any case. They're damaged upon removal.

You caught me before I could correct my post.. I was quoting RR... '00-present will fit.
