View Full Version : Anyone outside of the US get their calendars yet?

Seems people outside the US haven't gotten their calendars yet. Please check in here with your status. I've had problems with customs getting things through before and I'm hoping that they are only "held up" but would like to know if anyone outside the USA has received their order yet. If none of them show up by Monday then I'll make it right. I want you to have them ASAP but want to actually see if there is a problem or if it's just a few individuals. Thanks for the updates! -John

The wife showed me her calendar (freebee from the bank) and I noticed that,
Hey! We're coming to the end of January, 2009!! How did it get so late??
I didn't even know what year it was!!!!

I'm not sure why this info needed to be pm'd however I was told (via pm) that a second calender would be sent to me, and that I might eventually receive two.
Don't know what happend in the first place and dosn't really matter as long as I eventually receive one.

Folkie
26th January 2009, 14:19
It'll be nice to get it eventually for the pictures, but it's a calendar, you do really want to get it before the year starts, not one month (or more) into the year. :frownthre

I know its not Berts fault, but I think the 2010 calendar should be buttoned down and posted by the end of November this year

You're PM box is full so I will post the message I wanted to send you here:

Hello sir,

My calender was waiting for me when I got home today.
But it does look funny inside.

I havent read all the posts to the few threads about the calenders so I don't know if this is for everyone or just me.

There is 3 "February" pages, 1 with ScreamingEag1e's bike and 2 more with a black/silver B&W Nighty.
The same Nighty is on March.

Then 3 "Novembers", 1 with the mini bagger and 2 with the night time "light show".
The "light show" is back for December.

I just received one (1) calendar today, postmarked 22 January, 2009.
It's got all the right months, all in the right order.
Disappointingly, still no info regarding the pics, bikes, owners, etc.

Next year I ought to receive a freebee. Eh?

That Triumph sponsored blockade must be really effective.
So far not one ship has gotten through.
We'll have to start sending convoys with escort vessels.

Sorry...sorry.
Didn't mean to mention the war.
I was just trying to cheer you up a little bit!
Wellll--that's the kind of gratitude I've come to expect from you lot!
Good, brave men are laying down their LIVES trying to get those shipments through to you, and all you can say is
"Eeeewww, didn't get me calendar, don't cha know?"
IT'S ONLY THE MIDDLE OF FEBRUARY! What did you expect, eh? Did you expect to get it BEFORE the end of LAST YEAR?? Look here, me bucko--
the days of your "Empire" are OVER! END OF EMPIRE, get it???? No more special treatment just because you're from "The United Kingdom". Face up to it--
You 'aven't even got a bleedin' KING anymore, 'ave you? So we'll have no more...WIN-jing about 'ow we didn't get our calendars.

Sorry. :o I was a bit on edge just then. I'm afraid to tell you that I received my XLF calendar not too long ago, and what a beauty it is. All colourful, nice pics of different bikes from goodness knows where. I know I'll get a bit more than ten months enjoyment out of it.
So you needn't feel like some long lost cargo cult forever scanning the horizon for some sign of a calendar-laden ship.
I'm sure yours will arrive. Courage. :wonderlan

So, listen, Mark--did you pay? No, really....
Are you, like, the last member to keep on not getting a calendar,
or are there others who are not making such a fuss as some? :doh:laugh
I mean--even Folkie got his, so we know that at least one of our ships got through to the U.Q. ....
I heard that an entire convoy got through to Italy without a single
calender sunk!

BigMark
16th February 2009, 07:40
What....you had to pay for these!!!! ;)

I think Raysheen must have tainted mine with some form of pastry product. The minute it hits the Wigan area it did not stand a chance of reaching me.
(for our USA friends search Pie Eaters)

Cheezooks, the BBC's "Guide to Life, the Universe, and Everything" http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A500365
makes Wigan sound absolutely ghastly. Deadful, even.
The kindest thing they say is: "A somewhat strange and parochial place, it has a number of, perhaps dubious, claims to fame."
Mushy pea-wet and curry? "Uncle Joe's Mint Ball"? Yummy. Then the authors start on about The Pie. I'll leave that to the readers' imaginings....
Being midway between Liverpool and Manchester sounds like a perfect 'location, location, location.' And on the train you get to meet the "friendly" :yikes Glaswegians, no doubt Glasgow Hards returning from a football match. :drinkbeer
I imagine your Lancashire to be somewhat less... eccentric(??).
Yup, those Wiganers/Wignites may've copped your calender since it's all pictures with no reading required.
