View Full Version : Sportster Superbrace Group Buy
cgubera 6th November 2006, 20:10 Need 30 folks for some good savings with the group buy. Brings the price to under $120 from what I understand. Anyone interested? We would need 30 so shake the bushes.
I had some serious fork flexing this weekend on a fast ride through some twisties and I have done other things --progressive front springs w/ 15wt, + longer 412 rear shocks) and by reading the posts this is my next logical step.
Cheers!
Roadster_Rider 6th November 2006, 20:14 Hmm, if we can get a group buy together i might consider it, although i was thinking i would simply make my own.
hybriDatsun350 6th November 2006, 21:44 I'm interested!

SportsterBart 7th November 2006, 14:44 I'd be interested if there isn't a three month delivery delay like the last time we tried this .
Bart
JohnT 7th November 2006, 15:36 I bought mine the last time we did this (yes, delivery was slow). Well worth the money. Calmed the front end down considerably.
Midnight Rambler 9th November 2006, 03:24 I'm interested too although last year, they took too long to deliver the product so I cancelled the order. Maybe order fulfillment will be different this year. Last year: Total = $115.95, Standard UPS Ground = $10.25, Grand Total = $126.20.
sb2005 9th November 2006, 21:12 Thanks for the SuperBrace support and we definately listen! We're currently in the process of deciding next month's group buy and with more feedback like this, our decision is a lot easier to make!
Last year's 4-6 week lag time is a direct result of the group buy concept. Because we run a larger number, we save on production costs and thus pass on the savings to you, the members. Last year, we were a relatively new sponsor to the xlforum and miscalculated the power of the xlforum. We now know and can work towards sooner delivery dates.
Thanks and every post helps towards the possibility of a December Sportster Group Buy.
USMC_Davii 9th November 2006, 21:18 Definitely interested.

cadiero 15th November 2006, 01:27 I bought one for my Sportster on the last group buy, can I get one for the Wide Glide? Will that count toward the 30?
sb2005 15th November 2006, 21:03 In addition to Cadiero, are there other members interested in group buy pricing for a SuperBrace for their Wide Glide, Deuce, Dyna, V-Rod, and other HD models with traditional (telescopic) forks?

Terp84Alum 16th November 2006, 19:05 My buddy has a superglide. Is that the same part number?

question: can you use boots with the superbrace?
IamVince 16th November 2006, 20:49 Dont leave me out:tour
sb2005 16th November 2006, 21:19 Terp84Alum,
what year SuperGlide does your buddy ride? If it 88-05, then yes the #5183 will fit but in 06-07, Harley changed the fork setup and the part # is 5191. The #5191 is priced slightly higher as the brace is CNC machined from a much larger piece of a billet aluminum and takes more machine time.
obinella,
Are you refering to the black accordion - cafe racer style boots? I do know that the dual sport and Triumph SuperBraces actually have CNC machined boss that accomadates the stock boots but the Sportster SuperBrace doesn't have that. I'm assuming it should fit as our early models didn't have that boss and they worked great with the stock forks.
Terp84Alum 16th November 2006, 21:58 It's an '05.
Okcpuckfan 16th November 2006, 23:45 I'm in.....

bplinson 26th November 2006, 19:54 Great deal!!!!
cgubera 1st December 2006, 19:55 Just bought mine!
gbinman 11th January 2007, 21:32 I got a Superbrace through the group buy. It arrived today and was installed shortly thereafter.
Even though the weather was on the cold side and threatening rain, I had to give it a road test.
Simply put, I am very pleased. I am not sure how much is group confidence vs actual mechanical improvement; but, I ran through a number of my favorite roads with the nice twisties and it really felt solid. I added an easy 5 MPH and felt better doing it. The wind was at 25 MPH with gusts to 32 so I was being a little conservative to leave room for a shove from a gust.
For total of $121.20, I am very pleased. I wish the bolts were SAE Allens rather than metric... I had to find something to bitch about.
