Hello all. Well lets see...I put Harley mini Apes on my bike a couple months ago. I took the bike around the block and after a half mile, the clutch slipped and the bike would no longer move. I trailered the bike back home and tore the primaty and clutch down. After a couple of weeks regretting the tear down, I finally got the thing back together. However...the tranny still will not engage. The clutch feels good, the tranny shifts good...but the bike will not move. Please help. I adjusted everything acording to the manual. :yikes

Did you check the end play on the clutch cable at all?
If it worked before the apes, without adjusting the cable
for more free play the clutch will bind up.

Yes. Everything seemed to be fine. it is really weird. When I shift in to any gear and let the clutch out...nothing happens. The bike will not move at all. The last time I rode the bike, the clutch began to slip. I got it home and adjusted the cable. All seemed to be fine. I then put on the apes, still all seemed to be fine. Until I took it for a test ride. The clutch began to slip under load of climbing a hill. At the top of the hill, that was all she wrote. The bike has not moved since.

The clutch was one of the fiew jobs I let someone else do on my bike. I had some broken parts in there and the clutch was all over the place. I now have a carbon fiber clutch and life is good. Might want to let a pro look at it.
