Just wondering if anyone knows if HD primary fluid is the best for the job. I just took my Hayden M6 off and put the stock tensioner back on and wonder if I should use something else in there. I prefer synthetics when it comes to lube but it is not always the best. Tell me what I should use.

the HD sporty lube is a semi syn anyway....

the ONLY reason I use something different is price ....

I only carry a few oils in stock and the oil I use in the primary is a semi syn that I use in my Gixxers...

I buy it in bulk and it works out at about 1/4 the price of the HD lube.....

Can't find any difference in the feel...

if ya use something different MAKE SURE it hasn't got any friction modifyers in it...

the stuff I'm usin is a 15-60 semi syn ... made in OZ and designed for our conditions

The hd lube is light ... about 10 from memory... shifts well tho

Never had or seen a problem with the HD stuff..... good oil ... just too dear by the time it makes it over here...

I've used Mobil 1 motor oil for years now. And the only part of my street bike that hasn't gone out yet is the clutch and trans. It feels like it shifts smoother than Sport Trans.

Do you all feel that the 32oz (1 Qt) of Sport-Trans fluid that the Service manual calls for is about the right amount after draining .... or does it take slightly more or less?

I don't want to buy more than 1 Qt. if I don't have to.

Don't they sell a fully synthetic form of Sport-Trans fluid too? Wonder if it's any better than the regular Sport-Trans fluid?

It usually takes less than a quart. About 28 oz. IIRC.
